Questions & Answers

WINES :

In what position should wine be stored and at what temperature?
Bottles must be stored lying down in a place where there is little variation in temperature.
Even if a temperature from 12 to 13 °C is ideal, a good wine can be stored between 10 and 18°C.

How can the label be protected from mold and mildew?
A helpful hint! Wrap the bottles in a transparent plastic wrap used in the kitchen.

How long can a Vouvray sparkling wine be kept?
In general, Vouvray wines can be kept for at least 10 years. However, in the case of the Vouvray semi-sparkling or sparkling wines, it's their freshness and vivaciousness that is appreciated. They can therefore be consumed rapidly since they have already spent a year in our cellars.

What are the best Vouvray vintages?
The 90's were generous with Vouvray in the sense that we did not see an uninteresting vintage. If awards were to be given, 1990 and 1989 would be considered exceptional, and 1996 and 1997 as the most interesting. The new century started with two famous vintages : 2003 and 2005. Don't forget that an average year can reserve an enjoyable surprise a few years later : 2002 !

Should the corks be changed and when?
Unfortunately, the quality of cork has decreased in the last few years. It is, therefore, important to pay attention to the corks of still wines and eventually changer them after 15 years (or more depending on the quality).
One can take advantage of this opportunity to taste the wine and to refill the bottles if necessary.

How long is the tour?

The tour of the cellars and the panoramic room takes about 25 to 30 minutes. The time dedicated to wine tasting depends on your interest for our wines! The cooperage tools exhibition and video program " the four seasons of the vine" are on free access.

Is the cellar handicap accessible?
The cellar and tasting room are handicap accessible since it is on the ground level. Since the panoramic room is accessed by a staircase, the tour of the wine storehouse can be made directly in the production areas if security is ensured.

Must reservations be made for a tour?
For groups of 15 or more, reservations are required by fax, telephone or Email at :

SALES-SHIPPING :

What are the shipping times in France?
From three to ten days from the time of reception of your order depending on the distance and the time of shipping.
However, we can not guarantee the shipping time without using express shipping services which are at a higher cost.

Is there a risk in shipping?
Upon reception, check the merchandise and inform us of any problem (number and condition of the package). In case of any doubts, note your concerns on the transporter's packing slip. It is preferable to not ship wine in extremely hot or cold weather.
Don't worry, we'll make the right decision.
